CORCOVADO TRAILS

CORCOVADO, EL TIGRE TRAIL

This 7 km mountain trail is the newest entrance to Corcovado National Park.

Duration: 6-7 Hours / Difficulty: Medium / High, Group size: 6 people maximum

SEVERAL DAY PACKAGES

 THE TIGER / WHITE STONES / CARATE 

The El Tigre tour is an adventure hike along an old gold mining trail in Dos Brazos de Río Tigre and is one of the newest hikes along the boundaries of Corcovado National Park that stands out for providing an unique vision of life in rural Costa Rica. The first day of the trek includes a hike along the Tigre River into the mountains to Piedras Blancas, a former gold mining community, concluding the day with an evening tour. Day 2 of the trek begins with a gold panning tour and continues through the mountains ending in Carate.

**The local collective bus travels from Carate to Puerto Jiménez, leaving at 4PM. Tickets are $9 USD.

**The accommodation is an open rustic ranch with running water, bathroom, shower and kitchen; however, there is no electricity.

THE WATER JUMP

BIRDWATCHING

With almost 10% of the world's species found here on the Peninsula, Osa is truly a bird watcher's paradise! Take a tour through the community of Dos Brazos into the surrounding rainforest in search of the 300+ species of birds that call OSA home!

NIGHT TOUR

Many of Osa's most elusive animals, including many species of frogs, snakes and other nocturnal mammals, are much more active at night. Enjoy the enchanting effects of the jungle at night with a guided moonlight tour! Please note that the night walk only takes place on certain nights, as the moon has a great influence on the animals' activities, so reservations are essential.

TICA COOKING CLASSES

Learn how to prepare traditional dishes from members of the local community! Food options include picadillo, tortillas, patacones, and empanadas, among other traditional Costa Rican dishes. You will have the opportunity to delight in your wonderful creations and, even better, you will have a little piece of Costa Rican culture to take with you to your home kitchen!

*For tours longer than 3 hours, we recommend packing a lunch or making alternative meal arrangements. To-go meals can be purchased for an additional $6 USD per person.
**Due to intermittent rains, we recommend bringing plastic bags to prevent valuables from getting wet.
***Although rubber boots are preferred (due to wet terrain and rain), we recommend wearing rubber boots or walking shoes for all walks/excursions. Sneakers are not recommended. Closed shoes are required for horseback riding.
