DRIVING FROM SAN JOSE TO OSA

AUTO
Take the Carretera San José–Caldera (CR27) to the first exit, pass the Pozón toll, and take the Carretera Austral, or Costanera Sur (CR34). Take this south through Jacó, Quepos, and Dominical to Palmar Norte, where you will meet the Inter-American Highway (CR2). Take this south to the turnoff for La Palma, Rincón and Puerto Jiménez.
DRIVING WITH TWO ARMS
Once you have taken the detour to La Palma, Rincón and Puerto Jiménez (Rt 245), stay on Rt 245 for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Take the last right turn before the bridge marked "Rio Tigre". If you have crossed the bridge, you have gone too far and will continue to Puerto Jimenez. After turning off Route 245, follow the dirt road for approximately 3 km through the town of Gallardo. On the left you will see the town's soccer field with a "Boca Gallardo" sign. After this sign, take the second left (there will be a series of small signs for Dos Brazos, Corcovado, and other local businesses at the entrance of the loop). Follow this road for about 5 km. Cross the main bridge into town and at the fork turn left and follow the road for approximately 50 metres. The Tourist Office will be located on the right.
