The BM Supermarket is one of the largest chain grocery stores in the southern region of Costa Rica.  Popular amongst locals and tourists alike, the BM Supermarket offers a large selection of products from meat and produce to wines and spirits and an impressive assortment of name brand packaged goods and toiletries.  If you are planning on preparing meals yourself or forgot a few items back home, it is definitely worth making a stop here to find what you need during the duration of your stay.  The BM Supermarket accepts both cash and credit card.  

LOCATION: A 5-minute walk from the soccer fields in Puerto Jimenez down the main road; One block north of the Banco Nacional

The Pali Supermarket is another chain grocery store located in Puerto Jimenez.  Though product offerings are slightly more limited than the BM Supermarket, Pali often offers packaged goods at lower prices.  Pali accepts both cash and credit card.

Dos Brazos



The local fruit and vegetable stand is a family operated business that is stocked with a variety of fresh produce on a daily basis.  If you are looking to try some local tropical fruits or enjoy ripe veggies, this is the place to go for great quality at a steal! The market accepts both cash and credit card.   

LOCATION: Off of a side street one block before the Banco Nacional (If you have trouble finding the store ask any local for the "Verduleria" and they'll be able to point you in the right direction!)

Pulperias are the traditional name for a small general store here in Costa Rica.  Dos Brazos has two pulperias in town that offer a variety of snacks, refreshing drinks, and a few key staples in case you forgot something in Puerto Jimenez.  Both stores only accept cash, so be sure to stop at the bank before heading into Dos Brazos.

LOCATION - Pulperia El Cayman: 200 meters north of the Office of Tourism along the left branch of the Tigre RIver

If you are looking to prepare your own food during your trip, we recommend buying your groceries in Puerto Jimenez before arriving in Dos Brazos.  While there are a few small pulperias here in Dos Brazos, the grocery stores in Puerto Jimenez offer a much larger variety of products to prepare full meals. 



Dos Brazos

WESTER is a newly opened restaurant and pizzeria located in the center of Dos Brazos open Tuesday through Sunday from 12:30-8:00 PM! Their menu consists of a variety of dishes ranging between $2 USD and $8 USD, including pizza (sold by the slice or full pie), hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, "salchipapas", fruit plates, smoothies, and coffee!

Whether you're a guest at the bed & breakfast or just visiting the community, this family run business offers a variety of food options including typical Costa Rican cuisine as well as fresh fruits and veggies.  Reservations in advance, though not required, are preferred.   

LOCATION: 500 meters east of the escuela along the right branch of the Tigre River

Enjoy typical Costa Rican cuisine and international wines in a family-friendly atmosphere. By reservation only.  We ask that you please make your reservation at the latest the day before for breakfast and in the morning for lunch or dinner.  Breakfast - $8 USD/ Lunch - $12 USD/ Dinner - $15 USD (Lunch and dinner price does not include drinks).

Not looking to cook during your trip? We can take care of your meals for you! Fresh Costa Rican meals can be prepared and delivered to you each day of your stay or, if you would prefer to set your own menu, you can purchase your ingredients in town and we can arrange to have one of our trained local cooks prepare your meals to your specifications.  Please be sure to let us know if there are any allergies or food restrictions we should be aware of.   




Dos Brazos

Going to be on the move during your vacation? You may be trekking through the wild, but that does not mean you have to compromise what you eat in the process! We offer traditional Costa Rican casado meals wrapped in banana leaves for 3,000 CRC ($6 USD) that can be delivered at the beginning of your tour and eaten on-the-go!  Chicken, beef, pork and vegetarian options are available.  Please be sure to let us know if there are any allergies or food restrictions we should be aware of.
